Syed Ghulam Qadir Shah holds Masters Degrees in Forestry from Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar and Masters in Environmental Management & Development from Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He has attended several on-job trainings in various aspects of natural resources management, climate change and REDD+. He possesses more than twenty five years’ experience of working with government, and International Organizations in Pakistan in various aspects of forestry and biodiversity conservation.

Nadeem Nisar

Contract Management & Procurement Officer

Nadeem Nisar is the “Contract Management & Procurement Officer” at National REDD+ Office and is responsible to look after the procurement management function of REDD+ Readiness Preparation Proposal (R-PP) Project, funded by The World Bank.

Mr. Nadeem has attained Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from University of Central Punjab. He has received trainings on Procurement Management, Time Management, Computer System Management and ISO Certified Internal Auditor course.

Ha has 20+ years of experience in Procurement and Contract Management in corporate sector, within construction and manufacturing industries. He has undertaken large scale high value procurement for MNCs ensuring value for money.

Muhammad Afrasiyab

GIS / Measurement Reporting and Verification (MRV) Expert

Mr. Muhammad Afrasiyab is a GIS Expert and equally good forester by profession, having dual masters in Remote Sensing / GIS and in Forestry. Muhammad Afrasiyab has graduated in Remote Sensing and GIS from the Institute of Geographical Information System, National University of Science and Technology Pakistan, specialized in the applications of Remote Sensing / GIS in forestry sector.  He is additionally qualified as a forestry graduate from Pakistan Forest Institute (PFI) Peshawar with distinction. With over 7 years of work experience he has been associated with many high profile organizations working in the forestry & GIS sectors including ICIMOD, WWF Pakistan, The Urban Unit and has also served in Government of Pakistan as Range Forest Officer. He is well versed with the previous initiatives of Government of Pakistan on REDD+ being involved in multiple key roles including the development of Action Plan for National Forest Monitoring System through Targetted Support Funds of UN-REDD. He has also conducted various trainings on the advanced tools and techniques of forest monitoring for REDD+ in Pakistan.

In the National REDD+ Office, Muhammad Afrasiyab is currently working as an individual consultant (GIS/MRV Expert) assisting the implementation of REDD+ Readiness Preparation Proposal (R-PP) of Forest Carbon Parnership Facility of the World Bank. This also includes the activities of developing a National Forest Monitoring System, Forest Reference Emission Levels and Safeguards Information System for REDD+ in Pakistan. He is also supervising ongoing research works under various inititives of the Ministry of Climate Change.

Mr. Pervez Manan

National Forest Inventory Expert

Mr. Pervez Manan joined the National REDD+ Office team as National Forest Inventory (NFI) Expert on 1st January, 2019.

He possesses Master of Science degree in Forestry from Pakistan Forest Institute and has diverse and wide range of demonstrated experience of over 11 years working with Government and International Organizations.

He has expertise in Forest Management and Forest Inventory and has performed different roles, duties and responsibilities such as project management, institutional and strategies development, planning, integrated natural resources management, forestry development, integrated watershed management, social mobilization and sustainable livelihoods development, monitoring and analysis.

His experience also includes application and internalization of cross cutting themes of climate change mitigation and adaptation, Environment, Disaster Risk Reduction, Gender and Social protection in to multidimensional development initiatives of poverty alleviation and sustainable livelihoods.

He also remained part of the planning and implementation of the well known and historic project “Billion Tree Afforestation Project” of the provincial government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan in the capacity of Divisional Forest Officer.

Farhat Jabeen

Research Associate REDD+

Miss Farhat Jabeen is an Environmentalist, currently working as a Research Associate in National REDD+ Office, Ministry of Climate Change. She has got Maters degree in Environmental Sciences with a focus on solid waste management from National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad. During her Masters, she presented her research study in International Conferences. Previously she has worked with Ministry of Climate Change and Global Environment Facility of Ministry of Climate Change as an intern. She also worked as an enumerator in Snow leopard foundation, a non-profit organization of working on conservation of wildlife with a focus on snow leopard in Himalaya, Hindu Kush and Karakoram ranges.

Rizwan Munir Afzal

Mr. Rizwan Munir Afzal is a experienced professional with over twenty one (21) years of demonstrated experience that has been acquired while working with Attock Oil Refinery Limited, Army Welfare Trust, development projects of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank and Government of Pakistan; expertise in a broad range of activities related to Financial Management, Administration, Procurement and Human Resource Management.

Expertise in Budget development, implementation, monitoring and control; skills in managing grants and multi donor financial portfolio; experience in preparing financial reports and financial performance analysis; experience in developing financial data for donor proposals and reports; expertise in accounts payables and receivables, cash flow  management, accounts reconciliations, bank reconciliations, coordination of internal & external audit, petty cash management and bank relationship management.
